Erica Bonham, MA, LPC
Erica Bonham, LPC, MA, is a speaker, trainer, badass, and aspires to be a catalyst for change, inspiration, evolution and growth. She graduated with honors in 2011 from the University of Colorado, Denver with a degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. She is also a certified yoga instructor and often draws on her experience with yoga to enrich her counseling practice.
Erica has worked as a therapist in a variety of settings and with a diverse array of clients and issues. She was honored to work on the Adult Outpatient Team at Arapahoe Douglas Mental Health Network for six years and has served as an adjunct psychology instructor at Front Range Community College. She has also worked both in the US and overseas as an HIV/AIDS educator and counselor, she has taught yoga in the Denver Women’s Prison and at the Gathering Place for families experiencing homelessness and has facilitated WINGS groups for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She is committed to approaching therapy from a social and racial justice perspective and AVOS as a practice is committed to dismantling systems of oppression including racism, sexism, homophobia and any other isms that limit people’s ability to feel safe and free.
Erica is a proud mom of two little boys and in her free time enjoys yoga, hiking, being in nature, and spending time with family and friends. She gains inspiration and growth in her work as a counselor and approaches each client with genuine curiosity, honesty and empathy. She believes that everyone is capable of a joyful, vivacious life and that everyone deserves love, respect and a sense of self that shines with laughter and gratitude. She is honored to be a part of your journey towards a healthier and happier life and looks forward to meeting with you. Contact Erica ➝
Kristin McGeehon, MA, LPC
Kristen McGeehon, MA, LPC, graduated with honors from the University of Denver with a degree in International Disaster Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. Additionally, she is trained in the practice of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy with a focus on attachment and somatic repair.
Kristen has worked as a therapist with diverse populations in many different settings, including community mental health centers, non-profit organizations, and integrated-care hospital settings. Through these experiences, Kristen learned to work productively and compassionately with clients presenting with different issues.
Kristen has a passion for working with trauma survivors, as well as those from all different cultural backgrounds and walks of life. She worked at AllHealth Network for a year on the outpatient team, as well as the Aurora Strong Resilience Center, which was founded after the Aurora theatre shooting. During this time, Kristen worked with the theatre survivors, refugees, homeless, and domestic violence survivors. Kristen ran a Girls Empowerment group for local teenaged refugees, a grief and loss group for adults, and an anger management group for adults. Additionally, Kristen has worked internationally with individuals and families who are survivors of the civil war in Sri Lanka.
In her free time, you can find Kristen exploring the Rocky Mountains with her dog and her loved ones. She enjoys reading, swimming, hiking, camping, and most other activities that involve being in nature with close friends. Kristen has found yoga to be an integral part of her self-care and often integrates the lessons learned on the mat into therapy. She finds meaning and inspiration in her work and feels honored to empower each client to tap into their most powerful, resilient selves. She is deeply honored and grateful to be a part of your journey towards a self-sustaining, fulfilling life and looks forward to meeting with you.
Mary Wilkie, LPCC
Mary Wilkie (she/they) hopes to bring authentic, unconditional positive regard to all clients and is honored to receive the trust and confidence of fellow humans on their journey toward self-empowerment and acceptance.Â
She/they are currently a graduate student with Adams State University, in the Counselor Education program, as a candidate for an LPC qualification in Clinical Mental Health and is thrilled to join AVOS Counseling Center for her practicum and internship. AVOS values of equity, empowerment, compassion and being trauma-informed align deeply with Mary’s value system.Â
Mary approaches counseling through a person-centered and positive psychology approach. Using trauma informed, body-centered, and cognitive behavioral practices, Mary partners with clients to support them in developing their own unique goals and addressing intersectional areas of need resulting from complex, ongoing, or prior traumas. With personal experience of Complex PTSD, housing instability, domestic violence, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ perspectives, they respect the lived experience of every client and are curious and compassionate about the unique needs and messy humanity in all humans and believes all are capable of living a healthy, empowered, vibrant life. Mary is inspired and energized by the work of counseling and is excited to know her clients!

Consultations can be on the phone or in-person. If you prefer to meet in person, we can reserve a full 75 minutes. If after the first 25 minutes, we determine that we are not a good fit, there is no charge.
