Meet Mary

Mary Wilke, LPCC

Mary Wilkie (she/they) hopes to bring authentic, unconditional positive regard to all clients and is honored to receive the trust and confidence of fellow humans on their journey toward self-empowerment and acceptance.

She/they are currently a graduate student with Adams State University, in the Counselor Education program, as a candidate for an LPC qualification in Clinical Mental Health and is thrilled to join AVOS Counseling Center for her practicum and internship. AVOS values of equity, empowerment, compassion and being trauma-informed align deeply with Mary’s value system.

Mary approaches counseling through a person-centered and positive psychology approach. Using trauma informed, body-centered, and cognitive behavioral practices, Mary partners with clients to support them in developing their own unique goals and addressing intersectional areas of need resulting from complex, ongoing, or prior traumas. With personal experience of Complex PTSD, housing instability, domestic violence, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ perspectives, they respect the lived experience of every client and are curious and compassionate about the unique needs and messy humanity in all humans and believes all are capable of living a healthy, empowered, vibrant life. Mary is inspired and energized by the work of counseling and is excited to know her clients.
